We got tired of fighting the browser print dialog.

PrintBridge was born out of a real frustration: web apps in 2026 still have no reliable, cross-platform way to print silently to a label printer, receipt printer, or document printer without the user clicking through a browser dialog.

QZ Tray works, but it requires Java, ships a signed applet, and feels like a relic. The browser Print API doesn't support ZPL or ESC/POS. And every custom WebSocket-to-printer hack we built for clients was a maintenance nightmare.

So we built PrintBridge — a lightweight desktop agent that exposes a clean REST and WebSocket API, handles printer discovery automatically, and runs silently in the background. No Java. No plugins. No dialogs.

We're a small team at Virtex Solutions, a software studio focused on developer tooling and logistics tech. PrintBridge is our flagship SaaS product and we're in it for the long haul.
